Correlation Matrix
Upon opening the Correlation Matrix, by default all the correlated uncertainty parameters that are available in your solution are listed. You can also view the uncertainty parameters on a study by study basis. The advantage of having all your dependent uncertainties displayed at once is that you can see which child uncertainty parameters are influenced by a parent uncertainty parameter.
At the top of the form, as a source, your solution is selected by default. You can also select to view your correlated uncertainty parameters per study. To so do, select a study of interest from the drop-down list.
On the form, the parent uncertainty parameters are listed in the column 'Parent Name'. When you are viewing the Correlation Matrix per study, the # column refers to the number the uncertainty parameter was given on the Designs form. When you are viewing the Correlation Matrix for your solution, the parent uncertainty parameters are listed in alphabetical order.
All the other columns list the child uncertainty parameters. When you are viewing the Correlation Matrix per study, the # in front of the name refers to the number the uncertainty parameter was given on the Designs form. When you are viewing the Correlation Matrix for your solution, the child uncertainty parameters are listed in alphabetical order.
The values in the cells list the correlation factor between the parent and child parameters, which helps to identify the type of correlation:
- +1 - correlation is full positive
- -1 - correlation is full negative
- (-1, 1) - correlation is partial
